  1. First off, Many reiiolgns participate in missionary trips. Jesus commanded his disciples to go to the ends of the world and preach the Gospel. The one that sounds the most familiar to what you are describing is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons). Many of their sons (and some daughters) go to Salt Lake City for training when they are 19 and then are sent to do their mission somewhere in the world. They return usually to finish college and get married. Though not for the Mormon church, I did a mission trip a few years ago. It is an experience of a lifetime that you will never forget. Many lessons will be learned and many devine happenings shall take place. My suggestion to you is that you pray earnestly to see if it is what God wants for you (not your will but His). If you are going on your own, your heart may be in it, but the Holy Spirit will not be first and foremost. My other suggestion to you is to not sell yourself short. Go to college. From your degree, get a very good job and provide a better life for yourself, whether or not you decide to go on a mission trip.References :
